Overview

Hij̼niv Se was founded durring the late 13th century in spring of the year 1251, by Saelheneb Castellen. The establishment of Hij̼niv Se was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Hij̼niv Se's construction back out of the project. Saelheneb Castellen pushed on reguardles, and Hij̼niv Se was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Hij̼niv Se was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Hij̼niv Se is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Hij̼niv Se is buildings are arranged arrounded highly ordered system of restrictive cobblestone streets which form octogonal paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The town lacks any defencive features, though certainly constructing even a simple fence or digging a ditch is at the forefront of the 's mind. At least, one would hope so.

Before you’ve even set foot into the heart of Hij̼niv Se, you can smell it. The incense. It hangs about the town like a cloud. Monks, priests, and clerics are everywhere, all dedicated to the same divine, all performing the same rituals to bless and anoint buildings, streets, people, animals, you name it they are or have blessed it. The same holy symbol is everywhere too. Its on buildings, on people, and even branded into livestock. This certainly loves its divine. Asside form the revrent worship, you can see the citizens are preparing for something, and that something isn’t good. Weapons are worn openly. Defensive structures have been recently constructed to guard less used areas of the town. Merchants seem very eager to sell their wares at discount prices. Something is coming.

Cultural Notes

Hij̼niv Se's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known for its fluid and florid elaborate style, comprising ornate, asymmetric designs and pastel shades. It is often considered to be a playful, light style, which made exuberant use of curves and emphasized subtle asymmetry in the general shape of its structures. Walls, ceilings and moldings are decorated with numerous interlacing of curves and counter-curves based on the shapes of ‘C’ and ‘S’, along with shell forms and other naturalistic shapes.

Due to the actions of local Kami, autumn is recurring in Hij̼niv Se.

The Caypup near Hij̼niv Se are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.

Hij̼niv Se's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves long periods of drunkenness to channel Abjuration energies of tier 2 via oath swearing.

Points of Interest

Hij̼niv Se is uncommonly rich, not only for the gentry but for the common citizens as well. They may produce a valuable good, oversee precious resource extraction, have special economic favors from the ruler, or simply have inherited a vast body of infrastructure. Their neighbors likely view them with envy, and outside raiders and exploiters find them an ideal target.

POI

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Hij̼niv Se was attacked by members of a peasant revolt. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Hij̼niv Se lost 295 people, 390 livestock, and 75 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 89, when members of Hij̼niv Se's militia enacted an operation to recruit a specific expert. The operation was complicated by one of the key objectives in the operation requiring sticking to a very strict and short time table. The conflict ended with the defense of the ruin against a siege, which ended in victory for Hij̼niv Se's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Hij̼niv Se's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
